More UK job losses reported today – how will we ever recover?
A recent report today has highlighted more doom and gloom in the UK job market. I suppose this backs up a poll carried out earlier in the week whereby 70% of people feared their jobs were at risk and dreaded the daily threat of redundancy looming over their heads. Well its confirmed today that unemployment figures have now reached 2.4m, the highest level since 1995. Factories are closing after losing major contracts due the uncertainty facing all their customers who have made the decision that it’s just too risky at the moment to even consider expanding what they already have. Some employees of larger firms have been asked to take pay cuts and have readily accepted this knowing that the alternative, should they not is far worse. The motor industry seems to have been hit really hard with over 3000 people having lost their jobs since the start of the year.
Many people in these jobs have worked there since leaving school, some having over 20 years experience and knowing very little about anything else that is out there. There are still jobs to be had but competition is fierce and you really need to be ahead of the game to be in with a chance.
I would love to say I seen all this coming before I moved to working for myself in an online business but I’m not that smart! I just knew I had to do something different, I had to stop trading my precious time for money and do what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. So I suppose I’ve been lucky, my business is recession proof but that doesn’t stop me feeling sad for others who haven’t yet seen that there is much much more to life than going to the same place, day in day out, doing the same things, people demanding of your time, coming home tired and stressed only to have to do it all again tomorrow.
One of my favourite quotations is “Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm… As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.” I can offer something different for you, something that will not only offer you another challenge, but with the right attitude, determination and in the initial stages some hard work, can and will make you incredibly wealthy. If you want to find out more about this, head on over to my site which is at http://www.wealthyincome4u.com. I know you won’t regret it.
Don’t let our politicians drag us any further into this recession, allow us to retain our dignity and give an honest day’s work for an honest pay out.
