This list is not even a quarter of what is actually available.  I just returned from Spain there and stayed in one of the top resorts on the Costa del Sol for $100 for the week.  It’s called Pueblo Evita if you want to check it out through your normal travel search engines.  If you do, just look at the quality of the site, the 5* accommodation and facilities that are there, it was unbelievable.

Hot Weeks are released to all Primo Vacations members 5-30 days before the reservation is available and savings of up to 80% can be found.  No that wasn’t a type, I really do mean 80% off to stay at luxury 5 star resorts worldwide.  How does the Caribbean, USA, Australia or Europe tempt you?

This week’s featured resorts can be found right here:

Brick wall ahead – non techie about to come crashing through!

I’ve gained so much technical knowledge these last 6 months or so now that I think I get a wee bit carried away with myself and sometimes I think I’m a lot better than I really am.  I try and be too adventurous and it always comes back to bite me on the proverbial.

What I’ve been trying to do for the last xx hours is something that probably sounds really simple to some people and it is to do with setting up accounts.  It was in place, or so I thought until I went to move some accounts around and realised I hadn’t quite got it right with one of them in the first place.  In the end I got so frustrated with trying to backtrack etc, I just closed the account and opened a new one.

Do you ever find yourself doing that, taking the long way round things when a really simple solution is staring you straight in the face?  Pragmatism is a large part of my personality and most pragmatists don’t take time to read instructions, they just plough straight in.  Well that is me over and over, and I never learn.  It doesn’t always result in errors but when it does, I would give anything to be the opposite type of personality and be a reflector.  Someone who doesn’t make decisions quickly but takes lots and lots of time to evaluate, to weigh up all the pros and cons and then takes things one baby step at a time.

So, that’s where I’m at right now.

On the positive side, I attended a fantastic webinar with our marketing group tonight and learned of really exciting things happening.  I’m always amazed at how we never sit still, there’s always some other high money making venture waiting to be thrust into our laps.

Tonight was extra exciting though – not only is there some really HOT STUFF coming our way but we are putting on a timebound promotion where people can try before they buy with all our marketing and coaching club.  All this for just $1 - I just can’t see how it is possible but if that’s what the boss says, that’s what we can offer.  I just wish I had this opportunity to access the best training materials and make lots of money for just $1 – I would have been laughing all the way to the bank.

So, here it is - grab it while you can because it won’t be there forever and could be taken down at any time.

What does starting off in an online marketing Home Business Opportunity and a little Jack Russell madam called Gem have in common?

jack russellWhat a strange title you may be thinking and I did too as soon as I’d written it but let me tell you the logic behind it (well it’s logic to me!)

As soon as I put my trainers on, Gem runs round the house frantically looking for her rubber ball and the panic in her face is so funny as she scrambles under the sofa (normally where she puts it) or in her bed and it gets thrown up in the air in her attempt to retrieve it from underneath.

Off we head to the park, she jumps out the car; ball firmly in the mouth then throws it at my feet.  The game then for the next 15 minutes or so is I kick the ball and she charges around at 90mph after it before falling in a heap, usually under a tree to recover from the exertion.  Our whole walk round the park, by the way takes about an hour, so we do this several times; play time however gets shorter and shorter as we go along.

This has always got me thinking “why doesn’t she just chase it a couple of times then just walk normally and pace herself to go the whole distance”?  Then the similarities with how I was when I first started my home business started to appear in my head.  I likened it to my first couple of months.

There I was, eager to learn, hungry for knowledge, wanting to do everything, find out how it all works and connects up this alien world of internet marketing.  I was easily distracted (Gem is when she sees another dog) and lost focus several times along the way.  Yes I was having great fun but I wasn’t being productive, I wasn’t taking meaningful action.  Often I felt like taking time out to recover and recharge my batteries (I was also working full-time in a busy corporate management job) so lots of pressure then.  If there had been a nice big tree where I could have lay down, that would have been bliss.  I found myself thinking a few times “wouldn’t it be nice to just take to the hills and get a bit of time out”.  I needed to find a manageable pace that would allow me to go the whole distance.  How did I do that?

Well, I attend weekly webinars with some of the leaders in our internet business who through a series of topics tells us how they are now earning a minimum of 5-figure salaries each month.  This is never said in a bragging manner, to the contrary, it is to let us know we can all achieve this and much more.  One that got me focussed and back on track was on daily strategies, what I should be doing each day without fail.  I have outlined this in one of my other blogs incidentally.

This is a marathon, not a sprint and I now know that.  I no longer open up my emails first and spend wasted time getting distracted – no, I take action every time I switch my laptop on, I write a blog (like now), I chat with my business friends on Facebook or LinkedIn, I write an article, I always do something each and every day.

So Gem, if you could read this I would be telling you! – slow down, pace yourself, you’re in this for the long haul, you just need to take a wee bit of action at a time and you’ll get round the whole course feeling great.  The only difference between you and me though Gem, I’ll make loads of money by going the whole course – just think how many rubber balls that could buy you……………………………..

5 Tips on working from home in a UK online business

Do your due diligence

Investing into a home business should not be considered lightly or just something done on a whim.  Spend some time looking into how you’ll earn your money.  Working from home can provide a great income, but it’s unlikely to make you a fortune, especially in the early days.  I took over 9 months before I eventually made a decision.  I’m not normally an indecisive person but I knew that when I did invest, I was in it for the long haul so I wanted to make sure both it and I had a meeting of minds.

Exercise caution

Don’t pay to sign up to home working opportunities unless you know what you’re letting yourself in for.  There are lots of adverts on the web claiming you can make your fortune for little time and effort.  Enter into these at your peril.  As the saying goes ‘there’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world’.  Another thing I noticed was a real extreme of set up costs.  These ranged from as little as $7.95 through to some I seen costing in excess of $thousands with ongoing costs.  I cannot emphasise enough that you need to be asking lots of questions if any part of you is saying “this is too good to be true”.

You need to be able to set a routine

If you’re in full-time employment and just like I was, you want to change your life, you want to get out of that rat race and start creating a great financial future whilst having lots of free time to do the things you want in life, then you need to ensure you can and will make the commitment required in the early set up stages.  This is not just for one night, one week, or one month.  It could be as little as a few months, but you need to know that you can confidently commit to putting in the initial effort.  Make sure you have a routine that works for you from day one.  You might prefer to start work first thing and finish at 4pm or work in the evening.  The key is to be disciplined and productive during the hours you do put into the business.

Protect yourself

Tell your household insurer that you’ll be working from home; otherwise you might not be able to claim on your insurance.  It’s not normally a problem (and may not cost you extra) unless you keep stock at home or have customers visit you there.

Financial and legal administration

Keep good records of what you earn and set aside money for taxes.  If you’re self employed, you have 90 days from when you start to register with HM Revenue and Customs.  Call them on 08459 154 515 for help and advice.  They are only too willing to help.
